7th September 2024 – Beyond the Horizon

The new exhibition Beyond the Horizon – in collaboration with the Royal Society of Edinburgh – is now all ready for the opening tomorrow. Maybe 99 % anyway.
There’s been a steady progression of activity inside the Twin Dome for the last few weeks. Everything’s been coming together quite slowly and then – in the last couple of days – very fast and very suddenly. Actually quite a lot like how Ernest Hemingway says that he went bankrupt.
The initial slow stage helped as quite a bit of the final content had time to emerge from conversations with other collaborators and involved parties. I discovered The Carina Nebula and Eastern Banjo frogs on the same day and they’ve both made their way into the mix.
Also in the mix is some wonderful trumpet improvisation by Bede Williams recorded in the Twin Dome back in the early summer and it’s great that I’ve finally got a project for it. Although I suppose I haven’t had to wait too long.
